Business Services
Your business is often your biggest asset. Most estate plans forget it entirely.
A trust that doesn't account for what happens to your business isn't a complete plan — it's a gap waiting for your family to find at the worst possible time. Hire us for one thing or build the whole thing. Every service stands on its own, and it all plays nicely with any of our Legacy Plans.
Own a business, no estate plan yet?
Own a business and your family has no plan? Let’s fix both.
You’re not alone. Plenty of business owners come to us with a company and zero plan for their family. No judgment here. In your Design Session we look at your family and your business together, then you choose the path that fits:
- A Legacy Plan for your family — chosen by who you’re protecting. See the Legacy Plans.
- Business Integration or Succession Planning — so your company is connected to that plan from the start.
- Ongoing support — a Your Family Attorney membership with the Business Owner add-on, or the Business Counsel Retainer on its own.
The $500 Design Session is credited toward your plan if you move forward.

Two ways to work with us on your business — The hands-on work on this page (filings, funding your company into your plan, entity compliance on its own) is priced per entity. Separately, the
Business Owner add-on to
Your Family Attorney ($400/month on any tier) adds the business side to your family membership: Entity Compliance (annual filings and registered agent upkeep), an annual business review (including a check that one entity’s ownership still matches your estate plan), corporate minutes and record updates, and coordination with your CPA and financial professionals, with your written permission. Only need the business side? The Business Counsel Retainer below stands on its own. All ongoing fees are monthly retainers, non-refundable and earned upon receipt.
Ongoing · Business Counsel Retainer
Your business attorney, on call
A standing attorney relationship for your business, no Your Family Attorney membership needed. Think of it as having a lawyer in your corner without hiring one full time. Billed monthly as a retainer; cancel with notice.
$1,500/ month retainer, per entity
- External general counsel: 1 hour of attorney time per month for calls, emails, and contract review. Unused time does not roll over. When it’s outside what we practice, we find you the right specialist
- 2 legal letters per year (such as a demand letter), Florida matters, subject to a conflict check
- Entity Compliance included: annual state filings and registered agent upkeep for the entity (state and registered agent fees are additional)
- Annual business review, including confirming each entity’s ownership still matches your estate plan
- Corporate minutes and record updates
- Coordination with your CPA and financial professionals, with your written permission
- Response within 1 business day, business hours only*
- 2 minor updates per year to business documents we prepared (such as an officer or address change)
- 10% off à la carte business work (excluding litigation and hourly corporate counsel)
Monthly fees are retainers for availability, non-refundable and earned upon receipt. *Response times count business hours only and do not apply during vacations and holidays; we give advance notice. Legal letters are released across the year: the first after your membership has been active for 90 days, the second after six months. Unused letters do not carry over and end if you cancel. Adding owners, restructuring, or forming a new entity is a new service, quoted separately. Membership covers keeping your business legally in order and answering your questions; a new legal matter is a separate engagement.
Business & Commercial Litigation
Business fight? We can take certain cases on contingency.
Business and commercial litigation services, from the first demand through mediation and pre-trial settlement, are available on a contingency fee basis in appropriate cases. We size up every case first. Not every one qualifies, and we’ll tell you straight.
Before we begin, a written agreement signed by both of us sets out the percentage, whether it is calculated before or after costs, who is responsible for costs if there is no recovery, and what happens if the case does not settle at mediation. Our services cover the matter through mediation and pre-trial settlement. No outcome is guaranteed.

Why the bundle — It saves you money. Formation, your operating agreement, and your first year of upkeep cost less together than they do piece by piece, and nothing slips after the entity exists. Why do it alongside your plan — forming a new entity at the same time as your estate plan lets us structure ownership to flow into your trust from the start, saving you a retitle later. Dissolving one? We make sure the wind-down doesn’t leave gaps in your existing plan.
